Powdered Laundry Detergent *NEW RECIPE* Makes LOADS!!*

Ingredients
1 (4 lb 12 oz) Box of Borax
1 (3 lb 7 oz) Box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
1 (3 lb) Container of OxyClean (I used a generic it was 3.5 lbs)
2 (14.1 oz) Bars of Fels Naphtha Soap
1 (4 lb) Box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
1-2 (55 oz) Bottle of Purex Crystals Fabric Softener (This is 100% optional. I like our clothes to smell good! Now if Gain would only come out with something!!)

Supplies
-1 wooden spoon
-2 large buckets (I used a new mop bucket and a 5 gallon paint pail, my hubby had)
-food processor (I have a food processor I got on a swap site I use strictly for my cleaning supplies and crafts)
-Containers with lids or use the 5 gallon bucket with a lid

-First grate the 2 bars of soap
-Switch to the chopping blade
-"Chop" the bar soap so it's more fine (see the second picture)
-Layer all the ingredients into a bucket. I used a new mop bucket.
-Blend ingredients in the food processor (little by little of course) You can either do this part or eliminate it all together. It just made everything the same consistency.
-Put blended ingredients into the other bucket and mix it together.

We use 1-2 tablespoons per load in our high efficiency washer. You may have to use more or less depending on your washer and/or water. (ie. hard water, water softener, etc.) From the looks of how much this makes we shouldn't need to make anymore until next fall!!

I got the "recipe" from http://www.howdoesshe.com/cheaper-and-better-diy-laundry-detergent/
The "recipe" at the top is adapted from there, but with the changes I made, so I'm ready for the next batch!

Happy Washing!

Update: Its's August 19, 2013 and we are still using this batch of soap!!!
